Flory hosts night of science
Families may participate in activities

Flory Academy of Sciences and Technology will host the annual Science Extravaganza from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 15 at the school, 240 Flory Ave., Moorpark.

This year's theme is "Save the Earth F.A.S.T.," with a focus on preserving the environment.

The evening of hands-on science activities is open to the community.

Activities include Amgen's Tox in a Box, atmospheric spectroscopy and lasers with Boeing, planting with Home Depot, Make grow cards with 4-H, storm chasing, recyling and composting with Waste Management, Worms 101, science fair, food sales and face painting.
